Nearly 40% of eligible voters in Arizona sit out each election often due to barriers in access, information, or representation. To change that, One Arizona, a coalition dedicated to strengthening democracy, set out to bring their marketing materials to life with visuals that reflect their mission and values. I created a visual identity system that connects their work to the culture and spirit of Arizona, turning civic engagement into a story of belonging, pride, and collective power.

Rooted in Arizona’s Identity

I created a system of marks inspired by Arizona’s cultural identity, drawing from its most iconic symbols. The Saguaro Cactus reflected the strength and resilience of the desert, while its flower represented thriving communities. Monument Valley grounded the system in the state’s landscape and cultural heritage. Together, these marks formed a visual language that honored Arizona’s story while connecting it to a larger movement for civic engagement.

Turning Culture Into Civic Action

To connect One Arizona’s mission with the community, I expanded the visual system to incorporate symbols of mail-in voting and GOTV messaging. These elements transformed the campaign into more than just visuals, they told a story of civic engagement rooted in culture and identity. The result was a unified narrative that encouraged voters to see themselves as part of a larger movement, fostering pride and collective responsibility.

Mobilizing Participation Online

To extend One Arizona’s message across digital platforms, I developed social media assets that carried the campaign’s cultural and civic themes into everyday conversations online. Each post and animation reinforced the symbols of mail-in voting and GOTV messaging, creating a consistent visual language that inspired participation. These assets transformed social channels into spaces for storytelling and community pride, amplifying the campaign’s mission and uniting audiences around a shared sense of belonging and purpose.
