As an individual who was raised in Colorado, it is important to me that I give back to the communities that helped make me the man I am today. I am passionate about the mission of these companies and know you will be too!

Marketing Collateral Design, Mile High Workshop, CO | 2020
Our nation has a mass incarceration crisis. There are many reasons why you should care about this: moral, economic, health – you pick. Mile High Workshop is an organization based in Aurora, CO, with the mission to create transformational employment opportunities for individuals formerly incarcerated to prevent recidivism. I was given the opportunity to support Mile High’s Banner Repurposing project through marketing collateral design,

Graphic/Product Design, Purple Door Coffee, CO | 2021
The current COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated many of the inequities in our nation. Here in Colorado, those struggling to afford their home, or already experiencing homelessness, were hit extra hard. Through my work with Purple Door Coffee, I helped the organization create marketing materials and merchandise, so that they could support individuals experiencing homelessness in Denver with the money made.

I believe in the importance of personal development, reskilling and upskilling within my trade. These organizations gave me further opportunities to support the Denver community, share ideas and inspire the next generation of makers and creatives.

testimonials

“Zack brings with him the most positive, helpful attitude paired with an expressive and innovative visual and UX design skillset. He’s always on the lookout for ways he can help, from learning how to code and deploy HTML5 banners to taking on learning Figma for a big website project. While keeping up with an intensive production workload, he was always super responsive and receptive to feedback, always striving to get it right and to improve on his work every day. A project he led, a new website for Primis Bank, has an incredibly strong balance of the client’s existing color palette and a website-only complementary palette. He kept it unique yet strictly templatized, ensuring that they have a scalable, ADA-compliant website system they can build on for years to come. He’s also a thoughtful coworker both personally and professionally, and gets rave reviews from the entire team every time he’s on their projects!”

Annemarie Miller | Creative Director, Look Listen

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with and managing Zack in a creative capacity early in his design career. Zack is a very creative and focused designer, bringing a positive attitude and willingness to grow to all projects he has worked on. He is a welcomed presence to any team dynamic and he shows great drive and initiative as a creative leader.”

Joe Horton | Art Director and Creative, Circuit Media

“Over the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school years, Zack has volunteered as a career resource and professional mentor to Denver Public Schools high school students through the Career and College Success department. He has introduced them to design as a career field, emphasized creative expression as an asset, helped them navigate their post-secondary and career interests, and served as a trusted adult.”

Alex Oves | Manager, Xplore Industry Exploration Program, DPS Career and College Success

“I manage a visitor center store and Zack has completed two different graphic design projects for me. His designs have been printed onto a variety of products that have sold fantastically, and he has been a joy to work with on both occasions.
Zack has gone above and beyond by creating additional color options and helping me convert his work into different file types as needed for use on different products. I look forward to working with him again in the future.”

Lily Pastel | Information Center and Bookstore Manager, Mono Lake Committee

“I’ve worked with Zack on two projects, and both were excellent experiences. Zack strikes a wonderful balance between bringing creative ideas and design inspiration to the table while not getting his ego involved, and being totally open to feedback or changes. He is a very systematic and thorough worker who is honest about his areas of expertise and what lies outside his realm of knowledge, while also being very open to researching and learning new things. If you want someone who you can trust will bring your project to life, I highly recommend Zack.”
